We only just returned from a visit to the Philippines where we found hottest new tourist destination in South east asia and without doubt the high point of our holiday. The Underground River on the amazing tropical island of Palawan where we also found the most wonderful surroundings I am able to remember.

The vacation was already superb and we were having a time of our lives but several people said to us we have to go to the Underground River. We had never read about it but apparently it is the longest river on the planet that you can take a boat ride actually underground.

Therefore we traveled to Sabang and checked into the Sheridan Beach resort which was fantastic. Amazing 5 star first class holiday accomodations right there in the national park and created to be totally eco-friendly with no impact on the environment. The national park is amongst the most unspoiled and breathtaking rain forest locations still remaining in the entire world with plenty of distinctive wild life and plants.

The Palawan Beach Resort is just a short trip to the Underground River which is now regarded as on the list of natural wonders of the world and the environmentally aware regional authorities on Palawan have been working hard to make it accessible to as many people as they can with out letting it have an effect on the environment. So you can now have the best of both worlds enjoying top notch luxurious accommodation and at the same time be in one of the last remote and stunning locations on earth.

It was an amazing experience I am going to remember for the remainder of my life. I recommend everybody go and visit it and take the canoe trip. You feel as though you are in a another world and it’s so very calming and remarkable. We are returning next year and this time we will spend the entire trip on Palawan rather than a few nights which was too little.
