Enjoying The Caribbean Islands

If you are stumped for ideas about a luxury holiday this year, why not take a look at some destinations in the Caribbean? There has been a lot in the news recently of increases in air passenger duty, as a result many travel agents have been forced to slash costs of their package trips abroad to long-haul destinations. This means that you can pick up a holiday to the Caribbean much cheaper than before.

One of the great things about the Caribbean is that each island offers its own unique holiday experience. Antigua holidays allow you to tread in the footsteps of a proud maritime tradition, the original naval port founded by Lord Nelson can still be visited as it is now a national heritage museum. You will find that many of the islanders have excellent sailing skills, and you can hire craft that will whisk you through the reefs surrounding Antigua for fishing or diving excursions.

Jamaica is also a good choice if you fancy a holiday that’s a little more laid back, and don’t want to overt-tax yourself on excursions and trips. The political unrest that recently marred Kingston, the capital, has now passed and island life is returning to normal with preparations for the Jazz festival in full swing! Jamaica holidays will let you sample the varied and vibrant social culture of the island, famous for its music and poetry as well as some pretty lethal cocktails that you can sample as you relax on the beach.

One of the other popular destinations is Barbados. This islands has the mildest weather as its location means that most of the seasonal hurricanes miss the island completely, meaning you can get a holiday at a less expensive time of year and still be assured of getting good weather. St Lucia is another popular choice for Caribbean holidays, with a long-held association as a resort for couples and honeymooners gong on their first special holiday together. It’s not just for couples though, there are also resorts that cater for families and all-inclusive holidays as well.
