Brighton Parade or Chalgrove musive festival?

Question by Joys of Toys: Brighton Parade or Chalgrove musive festival?
Big dilemma! We can’t decide if we should go to the annual pride parade in Brighton or go to Chalgrove music festival (which lasts from friday to sunday, camping).
The pluses for Brighton pride parade are:
+ Easy and quick to get to from London, we can go at 9am saturday and take the last train back to london which takes just under an hour.
+ the customes and the shows are fantastic and very exciting atmosphere
+ I’ve never been before and as i’m 5 months pregnant, next year round i might be too busy to take my baby there.
The cons:
- If I feel tired, there’s limited place to sit and rest as we will be there only for the day without accomodation.
- It will be too crowded and busy so finding a place to eat, sit would be harder

The camping festival is hosting bands that i’ve never heard of, they’re like tribute bands and not very famous.. it’s in oxfordshire which is about 1hr 40mins to 2 hours.
Pluses for camping:
+ I’ll have a tent to rest in when I get tired
+ Spending the whole weekend away makes us feel like we went out and had a “holiday” as opposite to a day away by the coast.
+considerably cheaper staying overnight in camp than a hotel
The cons:
- No fires or BBQ allowed so we won’t be making out breakfast or dinner casserole on the lovely camp fire.. it really makesthe whole experience to us to be able to light fire, but then i guess it makes the camping safer?
- Having to drive there requires concentrating from the driver (obviously), but then we can play whatever music we like and not worry about carrying camp stuff.
- camping festivals happen every year, almost every month and they aren’t rare, we don’t specifically know this festival we just usually like camping and if there are bands then fine, but we aren’t particularly crazy about a specific festivalm infact we hadn’t heard of this before. but the parade is once a year, and camping is more family friendly so i can take my baby with us camping later
- less civilized and less clean toilets for those night visits to the loo .. also limited washing facilities, but on a day trip i can come back to all home comforts.

The camping costs about £50 for both of us plus petrol, the brighton parade train ticket costs around £30-£35 for both of us, and thats not including meals as in both cases we’ll need to buy food from there as no cooking facilities in camp are available.

guys im sorry im going on and on, but really what would u do??????? thanks a lot

From the costs you will incur and some inconvenience to go to the festival it seems to me that Brighton would be your best bet.
Brighton is full of eating places and there are also open air stands selling food and seating around outside. Also parks where you could rest on the grass if no seats available and plenty of pubs too.
The parade ends up in Preston Park where I imagine they will have stalls and beer tents set up and I should think medical help if necessary.
If you have never done anything like this before then it would be a new experience and far easier to do before your baby is born. The floats and costumes worn are usually pretty spectacular too.

camping is a better choice for you. Because in my opinion, camping is very interesting and chanllegeable. But here i remind you to bring a flashlight with you in your camping. if you do not have, go to http://www.pickegg.com/wholesale-Flashlights-Laser-LED.html to choose a right one for you, it is cheap and free shipping around the world.
